Fabrizio Ventura +
Fabrizo Ventura was born in Rome. He studied piano and composition in Rome. In 1985 he graduated as conductor (in the class of Professor Karl Österreicher) at the Hochschule für Musik in Vienna.
Fabrizio Ventura has been GMD for Theater und Sinfonieorchester Münster from August 2007 to 2017. Since September 2005 he has been chief conductor at the Istanbul State Opera.
The Italian conductor has been in charge of various opera productions among others at the Royal Opera Houses of Stockholm, Copenhagen and Oslo, the Volksoper Vienna, the State Opera Prague, the Opera di Roma, the Teatro Verdi Trieste, the Teatro Carlo Felice Genova, the Arena di Verona, the Opera de Nice, Sydney Opera House, Royal Opera House London and Festival Theatre Edinburgh.
From 1989 until 1994 he was the music director at the Musical Theatre Biel/Bienne in Switzerland and from 1994 until 1998 he was First Kapellmeister at the Braunschweig State Theatre. In this position he was at the Nuremberg State Theatre from 1998 until 2002. From 2002 until 2004, he was the general musical director of the Südthüringische Staatstheater Meiningen. In 2002 he made his successful debut at the Australian Opera Sydney conducting La Bohème.
