Lisa Jacobs joins Interartists AmsterdamApril 3rd 2020
In these unreal times, we are proud to announce Lisa Jacobs has joined Interartists Amsterdam for worldwide management.
Already at our first meeting we were captivated by Lisa's engaging personality. Lisa speaks passionately about her profession and has a very clear picture of the path she wants to follow. The ability to communicate her passion she spreads even more strongly on stage.
Lisa is known for her passionate performances, her surprising programming and her communicative qualities. At the age of 17 Lisa made her debut with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra conducted by Riccardo Chailly. Since then she has performed all over the world, both as a soloist with renowned orchestras and conductors, in recital programs and as an avid chamber musician. Lisa has worked with the aforementioned Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Amsterdam Sinfonietta, Brussels Philharmonic, Bremen Philharmonic, Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra and respected conductors such as Neeme Järvi, Riccardo Chailly, Otto Tausk and Carlos Miguel Prieto.
Together with a small group of equally driven musicians Lisa has founded The String Soloists. Their approach to making music without a conductor is what distinguishes the group from regular chamber orchestras. It requires an intensive involvement of all the musicians. The composition of the ensemble enables them to play as an ensemble member and as a soloist within the group. The String Soloists, founded in 2015, play on large stages in the Netherlands, Germany and Italy. Highlights of this season are their debut in the prestigious Sunday morning series of the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, the BankGiro Lottery Summer Concerts and concert tours to Italy, Germany and Portugal. The repertoire of The String Soloists includes a variety of styles, ranging from Baroque to contemporary work. In addition to performances of the regular repertoire, the ensemble focuses on the performance of unjustly neglected works.
Lisa has made numerous internationally acclaimed CD recordings. These recordings reflect Lisa's multifaceted musical interests. Lisa feels particularly at home in the Baroque era, as evidenced by her recordings of violin concertos by Locatelli and Haydn with The String Soloists. Both in these concerts and in the Caprices of Paganini, which Lisa also recorded on CD, she leaves her flawless technique entirely at the service of her playing pleasure. Lisa feels a strong connection with the Belgian violin school. She made that connection on the CD with works by Franck and Ysaÿe. With the Bremen Philharmonic Lisa made a beautiful CD with Nielsen's violin concerto. With this CD Lisa shows that she also enjoys the romantic and unknown repertoire very much.
In addition to her concert career, Lisa Jacobs enjoys teaching and is professor at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent (Belgium) and the Royal Conservatory of The Hague (the Netherlands).
Jacobs has been a proud Pirastro artist since 2017 and artistic director of the Middelburg Music Festival. Lisa currently plays a Rugieri from 1683, which has been made available to her privately. She is very grateful for this.
