Nino Gvetadze is a Challenge Classics artist. Her sixth album ‘As you like it’ was released in 2025. It tells the story of Nino’s youth in Georgia, where she studied with pianist/composer Nodar Gabunia and where she got to know the got to know the 33 Miniatures of Giya Kancheli.
“Nino Gvetadze sculpts each of the Miniatures with the utmost affection, sensitivity, and poetic expression. [...] The narrative of each episode in Gabunia’s From a Pupil’s Diary is keenly etched, benefiting from Gvetadze’s wealth of colors. [...] Gvetadze’s superb pianism is captured in excellent, lifelike sound. An enchanting disc”- Fanfare Magazine , 05-5-2026

November 2023 saw the release of her album “The Muse”, with Brahms’s Handel Variations & Fugue. Presto Magazine wrote: What Gvetadze presents is Brahms of terrific character and life certainly, but imbued with an almost Mendelssohnian lightness, clarity and delicacy ... Gvetadze avoids any sense of heaviness with playing of Mozartian transparency and pellucid tone. Each variation is wonderfully characterised and there is a real sense of forward propulsion leading to the final fugue. The whole performance is superb and her conception sounds fresh as a daisy. The same is true of the Op 79 Rhapsodies. Here again Gvetadze's precision and clarity are a revelation, making this familiar music sound newly minted.

A CD with two Beethoven piano concertos: the well-known 4th piano concerto and the lesser-known 6th piano concerto – later modified into the popular violin concerto was presented in 2022. On this CD, Nino plays on a Maene Straight Strung Grand and is accompanied by Phion conducted by Benjamin Levy. The Schumann album titled "Einsam" includes the "Kinderszenen" and "Kreisleriana". The album with solo works by English composer Cyril Scott was released at the BBC in London in November 2019. The 2017 album Ghosts, featuring Chopin's 24 Préludes, was reviewed by Radio Klara with: "An attractive and varied Chopin program and how sensitively and beautifully Nino Gvetadze plays all this, and with a remarkably rich piano sound."

Nino received various awards, the most important were the Second Prize, Press Prize and Audience Award at the International Franz Liszt Piano Competition 2008. She became the winner of prestigious Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award in 2010. Born and raised in Tbilisi, Nino studied with Veronika Tumanishvili, Nodar Gabunia and Nana Khubutia. After her graduation Nino moved to the Netherlands to study with Paul Komen and Jan Wijn. Since 2008 Nino plays in a piano trio with her colleagues Frederieke Saeijs and Maja Bogdanovic.

Since 2019 Nino Gvetadze is the Artistic Leader of Naarden International Piano Festival. In 2021 she succeeded Lisa Ferschtman as artistic director of the Delft International Chamber Music Festival.

CD “As you like it” (2025), with miniatures of Nodar Gabunia and Giya Kancheli

The playing of Nino Gvetadze breathes so much magic and lyrical refinement that these pieces may bask in a continuously radiant charm.
— Opus Klassiek, 05-2-2026
With her poetic delivery, Nino Getadze creates a worthy and meaningful homage to Georgian composers and their music that deserves to become far better known. 10 out of 10.

Gvetadze’s playing has greater colour and poetry than the only other recording I know […] Playing and recording are of the highest standard throughout.

Tour with Lisa Batiashvili and Schumann Quartet (Summer 2026), concerts at Schloss Elmau, Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele, Kissinger Sommer Festival and Rheingau Musik Festival.

Repertoire: Camille Saint-Saëns Violin Sonata no.1 and Ernest Chausson Concerto for violin, piano and string quartet

Nino Gvetadze is a congenial partner, in the service of making music together. The two artists responded to one another with such spontaneity that it seemed as though the music were being created in that very moment.
